SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
 
DESCRIPTION:
The topic of the course is the presentation of design methodology of large software systems with applications in the area of Finite Element Method (FEM) and Fluid Particle Model (FPM). The course is based on the presentation of the modern Unified Modelling Language notation. The notation allows us to design large software systems on the high-level of abstraction using object-oriented software design paradigm in the way independent of implementation language. The modern Unified Rational Process methodology is the basis of the course. The methodology de-scribes particular stages of large software systems design, starting from static diagrams, through dynamic diagrams, to the components and interfaces. Examples from existing FEM and FPM applications designed using UML and implemented using C++ are shown as an illustration of particular stages of large engineering software system designing.
